LISTEN: Avicii teases music from forthcoming album
Just over a year after his retirement from live performances due to mental health issues, Avicii has fulfilled his promise to continue to produce new music. The producer posted a teaser for a track on Instagram along with a series of hashtags that read conspicuously like track titles. The video features a backdrop of Peru’s Machu Picchu, where the producer recently took a vacation and, apparently, soaked up some creative inspiration.
The upbeat track features a guitar heavy intro with the producer’s signature spiking synths at the drop. If this preview is any indication, Avicii has remained loyal to the genre-bending style he popularized with True as well as some elements of syncopation and tropical house.
The producer has previously confirmed that he has a third album on the way slated for release this year which he claims will be the “best damn album” of his entire career.
