The Bloody Beetroots team with JET for new track ‘My Name Is Thunder’

The Bloody Beetroots needs no introduction. JET, however, may need a reintroduction. The Australian band behind 2003 hit “Are You Gonna Be My Girl” are back after disbanding in 2012. Their collaboration with the Italian producer marks the first new music from the group since they announced their return in 2016.

While The Bloody Beetroots, the pseudonym Sir Bob Cornelius Rifo uses for his solo releases, is known primarily for his electro house and dance punk productions, “My Name Is Thunder” marks a new direction for him. JET provides classic, wrenching rock n’ roll vocals and a cavalcade of crushing distorted guitars. It’s a rollicking tune — comparisons to another classic Aussie band will be immediate and not undeserved — and the sheer energy behind it portends good things for Beetroots’ experimentation and JET’s return to the music scene.
