The Chainsmokers’ 61 week long run in the Billboard top 10 finally ends

The Chainsmokers’ have finally fallen out of the Billboard Top 10, ending a 61 week long run of having at least one single in the Top 10. Their reign started in May 2016 with “Don’t Let Me Down,” continuing with “Closer” and “Paris” before it ended as their monster collaboration with Coldplay, “Something Just Like This,” bowed out of the Top 10 in the most recent rankings.

Their 61 week haul is the second longest an act has ever spent in the Top 10, just weeks eight weeks off Kay Perry’s all time record, set back in 2011. They’re also only the third group to have three simultaneous Top 10 songs on the list. These astronomical numbers are a clear indication of The Chainsmokers’ success and popularity.
