Crystalize – Stay Woke (Original Mix)
Ever since his first piece of work hit SoundCloud in 2014, dynamic producer Crystalize has consistently cranked out an enticing medley of original tracks and remixes. Favoring Porter Robinson remixes in his early production days, Crystalize released beautiful renditions of “Sad Machine,” “Fellow Feeling” and “Divinity,” gaining him attention among Porter fans and beyond. Since then, he’s remixed Skrillex, Jauz, Ookay, graves and many more.
Now the producer seems to be focusing on originals and his latest demonstrates a true step up his production game. The dramatic trap track seemingly has two sides: a beautiful, alluring melody theme that draws the listener in, and the trap-infused, festival-ready drop. This is one aspect of Crystalize’s music that has been consistent throughout his productions: a focus on an overall melody with intervals of different music styles (trap, in this case) that he seems to effortlessly blend together. Though the melody in “Stay Woke” is subtle, it flows gracefully throughout the entire track all the way to the minimalist fade-out at the end.
There’s never a dull moment in a Crystalize track. See for yourself.
