Deadmau5 unveils Cube 2.2, a compact replica of his original stage set-up [Updated]

Following years of weaving in and out of the limelight with consistent music releases, exuberantly decorated cars, and his infamous mouse helmet, deadmau5 has finally revealed his latest project. After bringing out the first of many designs, the Cube 2.1, back in April for the first leg of his nation-wide ‘Lots of Shows in a Row’ tour, fans were given the opportunity to see the spectacular figure in person.

Now, producer Joel Zimmerman has announced a re-creation of the structure, into a more approachable form used for “show development purposes.”  The smaller, desktop sized cube is roughly 18″ and carries a proportional pixel and panel set-up so the producer can test out new activations for his touring show.

UPDATE: [13 July 2017 4:02 PM EST] While a previous version of this story reported that the producer intended to take his cube replica on tour, Deadmau5 and literally hundreds of fans have come forward to clarify. The replica cube is for “show development purposes,” different from any of the other versions that may tour with his live show.
