Instupendo unveils music video for ‘Homme’

The first phase of Philadelphia-based producer Instupendo‘s career — which began with a series of affecting releases that led to a significant following on the in-peril SoundCloud — culminated in the release of his debut EP Friend of a FriendAs a followup, the producer has unveiled the first video begat from that EP, soundtracked by its final track “Homme.”

The track, mellifluous and melancholic, featuring vocals from Benny Sings, lines up well with “Homme’s” energy and emotion. A strictly black and white affair — shot on film by director James Rönkkö — combined with a non-linear storyline that, while can make for some confusion, fits perfectly the themes from the production and vocals, namely an ethereal vibe and the confusion surrounding relationships and the search for meaning. Whether a coda to Friend of a Friend or a sign of the more creative productions to be mined from the EP, the video for “Homme” will regardless serve as a bridge to the next phase of the young producer’s career — one that is eagerly anticipated.
