RL Grime shares edit of ‘Aurora’ with Flume’s ‘Never Be Like You’ [Free Download]

Henry Steinway has established his RL Grime project as one of trap music’s most laconic identities, but in 2017, the artist has been less silent than normal. Over the past several months, Steinway has begun to unfold his Nova endeavor, an all encompassing feat which he wants to be more “than just an album, or a show, or a single narrative.” Late in May, RL Grime told fans, “I want the Nova project to create spaces where you can feel part of the process.”

Today, July 13, the producer showed his following a sign of gratitude in preparation for the Australian and New Zealander leg of his tour with a rare free release. In the edit, Steinway fuses his 2016 single “Aurora” with Flume’s Kai-assisted radio hit, “Never Be Like You,” a blend which devout RL Grime fans will recognize from his shows over the past few years. Hopefully, the artist’s abrupt release of the edit foreshadows new music from Nova on the horizon. In the meantime, the free release is a welcomed surprise.
