ASAP Ferg has a super collaboration with Skrillex, Diplo, Katy Perry and Hannibal Buress
In 2015, ASAP Ferg revealed the thrilling news that he had a collaboration with Skrillex in the works. Two years later, the rapper has remarked that Sonny Moore is the “most fun in the studio” to work with, and has provided even more details regarding the long awaited track. In addition to Skrillex, the single will apparently feature Diplo, comedian Hannibal Buress, and Katy Perry.
News of the eclectic, star-studded demo’s existence came to light in ASAP Ferg’s recent appearance on Hot Ones, an interview show produced by Complex and First We Feast. Titled for its “hot questions and even hotter wings,” those interviewed by host Sean Evans answer questions, pausing only to lick hot sauce from their fingers and recover from the heat.
ASAP Ferg recalled the song’s chance conceptualization, stating that he was in the OWSLA don’s home studio in LA with Diplo and Hannibal Buress when Katy Perry randomly strolled in. Diplo played the beat of Skrillex and Crystal Caines’ “Hungry Ham,” while rapping with Buress. Perry held up the vocal end, while Skrillex also ad-libbed.
Apparently, ASAP Ferg doesn’t just have one version of the collaboration in his possession, but several. The rapper followed up his story by noting that he would like to put out the song officially. We only hope that the timeframe regarding this release is “ASAP.”
