Four Tet shares sublime new single ‘Planet’ ahead of forthcoming album

Four Tet has kept it considerably low-key since the 2015 release of Morning/Evening. The artist’s mantra may very well be quality over quantity — and we’re thankful for that. Proving this was this year’s Coachella set, the producer’s only festival performance this year, a daring deliverance featuring 4.5 hours of luscious tunes.

After returning to the limelight in early July with the sweeping harmonic progressions in his strikingly downtempo track, “Two Thousand And Seventeen,” Hebden is now back for more with another genre crossover, “Planet.” An antithesis to his earlier track, “Planet” is rich in vivacious dance melodies. Brimming with bright tactile rhythm throughout, the track truly transcends worldly elements. Laced with mysterious vocals, with over seven minutes of synths and percussion, Hebden proves on “Planet” just how deep he’ll dive to keep listeners on their toes.
