Meet Hamster: the latest thought-provoking masked-producer on the scene
Inspired by the illusion of rapidly moving forward only to discover one’s stuck in the proverbial hamster wheel comes Hamster, Los Angeles’ newly rising mysteriously masked-producer.
Debuting the solo moniker live just last month July 8 at LA’s Troubador alongside local collaborators Ari, Lee, LeyeT, and Serena Foster comes a electronic pop heavy masked figure who— here at Dancing Astronaut— is raising a lot of questions.
First and foremost, why the hamster head?
While Hamster’s been producing pop and EDM tracks for rising stars in the LA scene now over the last few years, the artist only began releasing his own tracks under the unbeknownst solo moniker in August of last year.
Digging through the artist’s YouTube yields his earliest video below featuring Tosh, titled “Anthem Of The Summer,” a club-ready track which after listening through is indeed living up to its name.
Landing on Spotify’s Viral Hits playlist with his song, “City Limits” and at number eight on the streaming giant’s United States Viral 50 back in April, it’s clear Hamster’s wheels have been spinning for quite some time now.
Sixteen videos currently grace his YouTube page including a stellar track entitled, “City Limits” and a new song featuring longtime LA-based artist Serena Foster titled “On The Run,” that was released just last week.
Watch the two videos for those tracks below, and be sure to keep an eye out for this Hamster who will likely be rotating the musical release wheel again soon.
