Premiere: GRiZ – Before I Go (AC Slater Remix)

Future funk producer, sexy saxophonist, and all-around spreader of good vibes, GRiZ, has been having a monumentally fun-filled 2017. The All Good Records head is gearing up to kick off his Summer/Fall tour with a sold-out two-day Red Rocks run, where he will be premiering his first live band experience, on Labor Day weekend.

As if all of this weren’t keeping the artist busy enough, GRiZ has been slowly releasing remixes in anticipation for a remix pack of his 13-track funk odyssey, Good Will Prevail. The timing couldn’t be better, either, as we approach the one year anniversary of the album’s original release this September.

The latest GRiZ track to receive a high-profile remix, this time from NightBass pioneer, AC Slater, premieres on DA today, Aug. 14. Featuring the soulful vocals of frequent collaborator Leo Napier, “Before I Go” encapsulated all the elements that have defined GRiZ’s saxophone wielding electro-soul aesthetic. Now, AC Slater has tamed the track’s meandering sax lines and whirling guitars and introduced upbeat percussive house elements and his signature rolling bass lines.
