In 2010, Angus & Julia Stone released a carefully crafted folk song called “Big Jet Plane.” The track performed well in their native Australia and Europe and even received gold accreditation. Seven years later, Alok and Mathieu Koss have revamped the wistful track and given it a deep house vibe.
Maintaining the original track’s guitar patterns, they’ve bolstered the introduction with the addition of a background piano melody. Just past the minute mark, the producers drop in a house rhythm that doesn’t hinder the somber tone of the track. Alok and Koss seem careful to not alter the message and resonance of 2010 original — something they’ve accomplished with style in this captivatingly beautiful rework.
