
Diplo teams up with Starrah on sultry new song, “Swerve”
Accustomed to punctuating just about every release with a bumping bass line, Diplo has traded his trademark thunderous track builds and bass drops for a toned down, tasteful acoustic guitar melody in his most recent single, “Swerve.” Diplo links up with songwriter, Starrah on the collaboration that simply smolders in its bare bones construction and slower tempo, offering an irresistible, sultry glimpse of Starrah’s lyrical ability and a soft lens focus of a more minimalistic Diplo in the studio.
The single’s gentle R&B approach aligns with Starch’s interest in the hip hop/R&B crossover, a style evidenced by Rihanna’s “Needed Me” and Travis Scott’s “Pick Up The Phone,” two songs penned by the dynamic songwriter.
