Flume put together a comprehensive hip-hop guest mix on Apple Music and it goes
Flume is undoubtedly one of modern music’s most intriguing tastemakers. After announcing last month he was “working on a whole bunch of new ideas, bits and pieces,” the artist’s now released a guest mix on iTunes where his sheen creative cognizance shines.
The Future Classic guest mix showcases 11 of his favorite new hip-hop tracks. Pulling from an eclectic, alternative array as opposed to the hot “mumble” mainstream craze, Flume draws on some praise-worthy lesser-known acts. In particular, the Texas-based Kevin Abstract led Brockhampton — a new kind of self-proclaimed American boy band — as well as Simmie Sims, or Buddy, a rapper and singer from Compton who’s collaborated with Kaytranada, Kendrick Lamar, Chance the Rapper, and more. Hopefully, the playlist gives us an idea of what to expect from his impending work. Until then listen to the guest mix here.
