Bonnie X Clyde team up with Purge for riveting future bass track ‘Torn’

LA-based duo Bonnie X Clyde convey an emotional message with their latest release, “Torn.” The duo has been on a roll with their signature “vocal bass” sound, as their most successful track to date, “Bass Jam,” sat at #1 on the Sirius XM BPM “Beats of the Week” chart for five weeks straight. They’ve also had their music featured in some of Insomniac’s official festival after-movies, such as EDC and Nocturnal Wonderland. In describing the track, which is a collaboration with OWSLA-supported duo Purge, Bonnie X Clyde mentioned how it’s “about expressing your true, raw feelings and coming to terms with them…and understanding it’s ok to need help and to not be ok all the time.”

“Torn” is cathartic, but also easy to jam-out to, kicking off with some edgy, elongated bass that gives leeway to Bonnie’s dreamy vocals and builds up into a hard-hitting drop that includes a mix of high-pitched lead synths, an ecstatic drum beat, and vocal samples. It sounds almost too perfect for any long-night-drive soundtrack.
