WATCH: Radiohead’s Jonny Greenwood says Spongebob meme of band’s discography is ‘perfect’
In present-day pop culture, the ubiquitous and oftentimes daringly on point meme content on social media is extensive. The seminal rock band Radiohead is the latest to garner a viral meme.
Recently, YouTuber Heliophobia unveiled a tongue-in-cheek Spongebob video that nails the themes of the band’s groundbreaking nine albums. In just under one minute, the band’s work has been juxtaposed to scenes from the cartoon, in a seemingly accurate fashion.
After racking up thousands of upvotes for its aptness on the Radiohead subreddit, the meme’s even gone on to reach the band’s lead guitarist, Jonny Greenwood. Greenwood went on to call the video “perfect” on Twitter.
