Fresh off his massive 20-track LP, Left Is Right, released in August, London’s Troyboi has released a new hip-hop-oriented single, “Don’t Want.” The “Afterhours” and “Welcome 2 London” producer has been conquering the trap music scene with his versatile and unparalleled textures and composition, which he has branded simply: My Style.

“Don’t Want” has a vintage texture to it — most noticeable in its deployment of a Diana Ross vocal sample. The chill trap track ventures into the avant-garde realm of electronic music, daring the listener to try and unravel its complexity. Troyboi draws influence here from every notch in his color palette — standard procedure for the endlessly intriguing producer.
