3LAU releases ‘Star Crossed’ music video, donates profits to hurricane relief

Those looking for an exotic fix without leaving the comfort of home should tune into 3LAU‘s new music video for the single “Star Crossed.” The Vegas native enlisted travel videographer Rob Strok to shoot and direct the video — a hire readily apparent in the breathtaking scenery of Kauai where the video was filmed. The music video takes the viewer on a journey of a male and female who travel along a similar path, but ultimately never overlap.

3LAU, whose real name is Justin Blau, was inspired by a quotation from Henry David Thoreau when shaping the creative direction of the video-,”Not until we are lost do we begin to understand ourselves.”

Beyond his productions, Blau is known for his philanthropic efforts. He has his own record label, BLUME, that donates all profits to charity, and he has recently donated show and streaming profits to hurricane relief among other charitable initiatives. The music video for “Star Crossed” continues this trend, as all profits from the music video will be donated to Hurricane relief in Houston and Puerto Rico. Blau spoke on his goals for the music video:

“The video is meant to encourage others to explore and to enjoy the journey. It is important to recognize the beauty in feeling lost sometimes, in life or in love.”

“Star Crossed” is rumored to be a feature of an album Blau will be dropping in 2018 according to his social posts.
