Evidence emerges that Porter Robinson will give debut Virtual Self performance soon
A Reddit user just might have uncovered evidence of the very first Virtual Self performance.
Porter Robinson recently attracted attention for the release of not only a new track, but a brand new alias as well. The single that Robinson shared on his social media platforms, “Eon Break,” was notably credited to a “Virtual Self.” After some healthy Internet digging, Robinson fans determined that Virtual Self appeared to be somewhat of a long term side project, as opposed to a fledgling invention.
The nature of Robinson’s Virtual Self alias has continued to remain elusive, but if Reddit user, shirazdh’s post is indeed authentic, Robinson will soon be touching down in Brooklyn for his first appearance under the Virtual Self alias. Shirazdh allegedly discovered a poster advertising the show while “walking around Brooklyn” the day after a Brooklyn-based Madeon show. Robinson and Madeon are memorable for their recently concluded Shelter Live Tour, an initiative that successfully merged their respective fan bases, rendering the flyer’s posting as particularly timely.
The poster appears to be legitimate, with the poster’s blue hued abstract artwork reminiscent of the track cover for Eon Break.

A less speculative bit of evidence that supports the theory that a performance is imminent for Virtual Self arrives in the form of an email response from Avant Gardner. A Reddit user emailed the address associated with the Avant Gardner venue, receiving a brief sort of confirmation regarding to question as to whether there might be any veracity to the Robinson rumors.
While concrete details of any Virtual Self activity remain mysterious, Virtual Self’s first “known event” will occur on December 8 at Avant Gardner.
