Goldenvoice parts ways with FYF Fest founder
Los Angeles’ FYF Fest may look a bit different next year, as the festival has officially parted ways with its founder, Sean Carlson. Carlson is reportedly no longer working with Goldenvoice, the festival’s parent company.
According to an internal email obtained by Variety, Goldenvoice CEO Paul Tollett, told the company that Carlson would no longer be the head of FYF Fest. Although, he did not cite a specific reason.
“Effective immediately, Goldenvoice has ended its relationship with Sean Carlson,” the email from Tollett reads. “We’re evaluating our path forward as it relates to FYF Fest. Please have your agents direct all matters regarding Coachella booking directly to me.”
While it remains unclear how this will impact the festival moving forward, it’s worth noting that FYF’s partnership with Goldenvoice has withstood since 2011. Such an event is similar to that of Gary Richards leaving HARD Events earlier this summer.
In 2017, FYF Fest boasted a bevy of acts from the likes of Nicolas Jaar and The Black Madonna, to Nine Inch Nails, Flying Lotus, Tiga, and more.
