Martin Garrix & David Guetta’s ‘So Far Away’ will no longer feature the vocals of Ellie Goulding
When Martin Garrix premiered his unreleased track, “So Far Away,” with David Guetta, at Tomorrowland 2017, it became the most-talked-about event of the festival. However, the event apparently did not sit well with Ellie Goulding‘s management.
The track, featuring dual vocals of Goulding and Conor Maynard, was an instant main stage hit, with fans clamoring for an official release. Yet, rumors began circulating that Goulding would no longer be the vocalist on the track for reasons unclear. The reason has recently been uncovered via Garrix and Goulding’s Twitter exchanges. Due to Garrix’s premature and seemingly innocent on-stage premier, Goulding’s record label made the executive move to pull her vocals from the track — despite Goulding’s insistence that she was enamored with the track herself.
she didn’t want to release it

They played the song at a festival before I had even heard the finished product which I was cool with but it didn’t go down well with my management or label. I have always loved the song very much.

“She didn’t want to release it” is completely untrue and unfair. I love the song!

Garrix has since confirmed that the track will be coming out this Friday, December 1, regardless featuring vocals from Romy & Jamie Scott.
