What So Not delivers drifting new future bass product ‘Be Ok Again’

What So Not is positioning himself for a major campaign in 2018. The Aussie beatsmith spent the majority of the year quietly prepping his debut solo LP, while ramping up tour production with a number of high profile festival appearances over the summer. In the span of a few weeks, Emoh has dropped off a new original, “Better,” along with a tag-teamed remix of ALOWNATION‘s “Run,” with QUIX, and now he’s following up with a gripping new original work called “Be Ok Again,” featuring Australian vocalist Daniel Johns of Silverchair. What So Not’s newest product plays upon the project’s earliest core appeals, returning to fluttering vocal work over bold, bombastic build ups and wiry, off-kilter breaks –– it feels like classic What So Not from front to back.

The track hisses and hums with Johns’ melodic topline complementing Emoh’s crisp, downtempo sound design. Pulling inspiration from earlier canonized What So Not material, the track is fresh yet excitingly familiar as we gear up for What So Not’s first full-length project next year. “Be Ok Again” is out now via Counter Records and tickets to catch a live show are available here.
