Diplo confirms that Skrillex is currently at work on a new album
Diplo recently sat down for an interview at Festival BUE, a two-day music event located in Buenos Airos, Argentina. As the electronic veteran discussed career details, he also divulged salient information regarding Skrillex’s current focus, a new album. “Skrillex is working on a new album,” Diplo stated, confirming the existence of a project that will serve as a much anticipated future installment in Skrillex’s staggered release history. Four-years prior, Skrillex would drop Leaving in 2013, his sixth EP. One-year later, he unveiled his debut studio album, Recess, in 2014.
Diplo went on to reference what some perceive to be the future of Jack Ü, declaring “I think that after that [Skrillex’s new album] and the new album that we are preparing with Major Lazer, we will make music together again.”
2017 has been a momentous year for Skrillex, who effectively dabbled in pop-drenched house music with Poo Bear, sang on a new From First To Last track, and released one of the most talked about remixes of the year for Kendrick Lamar’s “Humble.”
