Garden City Movement – Slightly All The Time
Garden City Movement have officially signed to Night Time Stories, the sister label of Late Night Tales designed for original artist releases. Having opened for Bonobo, Caribou, and Alt-J in recent years, the group has garnered a substantial amount of attention for their unique sound.
The trio of Roy Avital, Johnny Sharoni, and Yoav Saar is back with their newest single “Slightly All The Time,” which showcases the marriage between entirely different sonic worlds: from avant pop to east asian and even off kilter house. Amalgamating sounds from all over the globe and formulating their own distinct style, the group utilizies melting drum grooves and heady sitar sounds.
The melancholic tug of the song recounts a period of abuse during the denouement of a long term relationship. By drawing the listener into its sensuous melodies, one is encapsulated by the song before its subject matter is even apparent. Tugging emotion is made bearable by the saccharine kiss of sweet sonic symphonies.
