Listen to Flume preview new music in Greenpeace’s latest environmental awareness video [Watch]
The giving spirit of the holiday season has not escaped Flume.
The Australian artist has joined forces with non-governmental environmental awareness organization, Greenpeace, providing the soundtrack for the eco friendly entity’s latest project—a short video that features footage of the Great Barrier reef. An unreleased Flume track plays in the background as the camera depicts brilliantly hued fish and sea turtles, contrasting the wildlife imagery with shots of large ships and smoke stacks, contributors to the decline of the reef’s health. The video ends with a clear statement, “Climate Change is Wrecking The Great Barrier Reef,” followed by a link to a petition that viewers can sign to “stop the big polluters from destroying [the] climate.”
Flume’s “Anthem For The Reef” is a tenebrous melodic arrangement that coincides with the somber tone of the video’s content. Flume fans hungry for new music will find their tastes satiated in an environmentally conscious way, thanks to Flume’s collaboration with Greenpeace. Those interested in signing the electronic petition can do so here.
