Post Malone’s ‘Rockstar’ gets Latin remix
Post Malone knows what’s hot, or caliente, if one prefers.
In a year dominated by the “Despacito” remix from Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee, and Justin Bieber — which is now the most-streamed track of all time —the 22-year-old chart-topper Post Malone is following the rise of Latin influences in the most on-brand manner possible. His latest act is another testament to his grasp on music’s present, past, and future; as just this week, Malone took to his social media to tease a Latin remix of “Rockstar.”
Without notice, and in a true rockstar fashion, he’s dropped off the remix track which features verses from Puerto Rican artists Nicky Jam and Ozuna.
“Rockstar” originally had a guest feature from 21 Savage, but as the two Latino stars imbue their signature sounds into the new number, it’s easy to see that both the track’s versatility and their fervent flair are real rockstars on the remix, too.
