Weska & Kevin De Vries release thunderous two track EP ‘Cataract’

Weska is in the midst of a breakout year. The Toronto born, Berlin based newcomer has been championed by such acclaimed acts as Adam Beyer and Eric Prydz. The former provided big support for both his unreleased and released works and the latter has offered him a coveted spot in his storied residency at Hi! Ibiza and Creamfields UK. Weska has released on the likes of labels Kraftek and Tronic, Suara, and Octopus and his brand of techno is masterfully produced for maximum impact on large scale sound systems.

Weska’s collaborator, producer Kevin De Vries, has a tangible sonic presence, felt through his characteristic injection of trance inspired techno touchstones into the two tracks’ frameworks. The EP showcases two distinct soundscapes. The atmospheric, yet thunderous, alignment on “Cataract” contrasts the strident, spastic dance-floor nature of “Shape.” The release sees two ascending forces combine to create one singular sonic soundscape, and is certain to catapult the two artists further into global notoriety.
