Anjunabeats and Beatport name new Beats In School winner

With the start of a new year comes a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for 28-year-old Canadian Joel Freck.

Freck has been announced as the winner of Beatport and Anjunabeats‘ Beats In School producer contest series. After months of deliberation and submissions from trance and progressive producers all over the world, Freck has been named the winner from 20 finalists. His prize includes a year-long mentorship with Above & Beyond‘s Anjunabeats label.

Freck is eager to start his mentorship with the Anjunabeats team, saying it has been his dream ever since he started producing to become a part of their team.

“I believe Anjuna‘s production value to be second to none, so anything I learn throughout this experience will be valuable to me as an artist,” he says. “Ideally, in five years I would like to be doing this full-time, hopefully as a member of the Anjuna family.”

After this announcement, Beats In School is moving to find its next winner, who will receive a year-long mentorship with Hospital Records, the iconic UK drum & bass label led by Tony Colman, aka London Elektricity.
