Australian bass pair, Carmada, emerge with a frothy reinvigoration of Fatboy Slim‘s classic “Right Here, Right Now.” Finally, other notable releases from Don Diablo, Crankdat, Arty, Claptone, and The Magician made it into this week’s selections.
Additionally, we’ve provided our top picks from within The DA Hot 25, highlighting two standout tracks.
The Heat of the Week: Cashmere Cat – Miss You (with Major Lazer & Tory Lanez)
Norwegian beatsmith, Cashmere Cat, has been quietly working behind the scenes since the release of his debut album last year, 9, working on projects for Halsey, Camila Cabello, Francis and the Lights, and more. Re-emerging with his first single of the year and with the help of Major Lazer and Tory Lanez, the gifted producer offers up a pillowy, airy piece called “Miss You” that effortlessly blends electronic-touched elements of pop, R&B, and dancehall.
The Breakout Select: SG Lewis – Aura (ft. J Warner)
Liverpool talent, SG Lewis, broke through the noise this week with his first single of the year, “Aura.” A seductive, jazz-inspired tune, “Aura” features the groove-driven vocals of J Warner and is another standout addition to the UK producer’s catalog.
