Crankdat gives Jaden Smith’s ‘Icon’ the ‘Re-Crank’ treatment

It was no mistake Dancing Astronaut named Crankdat one of 2017’s Breakout Artists of the Year, as the Ohio native positioned himself for an incredibly swift ascension and in 2018, has solidified that direction tenfold.

Crankdat may be fresh on the heels of his latest single, “Reasons to Run,” but he hasn’t taken his foot off the gas just yet, and truthfully, he hasn’t in quite some time.

“Reasons to Run” follows two of his staples, “I Hold Still” with Jauz and Slushii and a collaboration with T-Pain called “In the Air.” Now, the producer’s shared his “Re-Crank” edit of Jaden Smith’s “Icon.” “Reasons to Run” is a tough track to follow up, but it’s a bold endeavor from electronic dance music’s rising icon himself.
