Loco Dice leads forthcoming album with first single, ‘Roots’
Despite a recent commitment to his FKD grime conglomerate, Desolat label boss Loco Dice remains an intersectional purveyor of robust house and techno. The producer just dropped off the aptly-named single named “Roots,” where he reflects on his deeply embedded connection to Dusseldorf, Detroit, and beyond.
Similar to his seminal material, the bristling “Roots” forcefully blurs the lines between house and techno. Skittish synths play across hurried drums as smooth chords add a layer of bona fide soul. The producer’s claps are rough and apprehensive, and as his own dark vocals usher in the atmospheric synapse, it’s clear “Roots” adds yet another set staple to his discography that will inevitably detonate any dance floor.
“Roots” leads the producer’s forthcoming album, Love Letters, to be released later in 2018 — and one which will hopefully be played out in part at his highly-anticipated headling slot b2b with the Martinez Brothers at Movement 2018.
