CIFIKA drops sophomore EP, launches largest North American tour for Korean artist to date
It is no secret that digital has influenced music to become a melting pot of cross-cultural collaborations. Whether these collaborations are in the form of two artists from different countries working with each other, or an artist sampling sounds and vocalists from a different culture, we live in a diverse musical landscape that would have hardly been possible without the internet.
South Korean artist CIFIKA is a pop-electronic embodiment of this fusion of influences, and she has released her sophomore EP, Prism. Lyrics for many of her tracks float in and out of Korean and English, and electronic backdrops are complemented by pop breaks throughout. CIFIKA arose from the underground Seoul music scene, and she is a truly gifted producer. She also writes all of her own lyrics and creates all of her own music, a rarity in the industry today. She mixes and produces as well, leading this triple threat artist to headline the largest tour to date in the U.S. for a Korean artist. ]
