Instupendo – Fleur ft Teen Daze
With his sophomore EP, Faces I Know, slated to bow April 3, Philadelphia’s Instupendo debuted the last single before the full collection, “Fleur.” Featuring contributions from Teen Daze, “Fleur” is yet another example of the producer’s growth and experimentation while staying within his established sound.
Bubbling synths — that are sure to be familiar to the Instupendo faithful — play the track in before the track’s vocal hook, delivered gently and with a subdued gravitas, unfurls itself over an expanding foundation. The track’s most energetic portion also marks the greatest deviation from Instupendo’s signature — crisp drums and flittering synths, sans the haze that is his calling card, project a bright, uplifting melody.
As has been the case for months now, “Fleur” is set to again increase anticipation for Faces I Know with its slick combination of classic style and clever experimentation.
