British electronic duo Simian Mobile Disco has canceled their forthcoming US tour in light of Jas Shaw’s amyloidosis diagnosis.

Because the majority of you lot on here are people I’ve met I thought I’d do a message to go along with the one that’s on the smd feed.
I’ve been diagnosed with AL Amyloidosis, started chemo last Thursday.— Jas shaw (@Jas_shaw) March 26, 2018
I’m still getting my head around it and don’t know how things are going to progress but it turns out that the people that I know are lovely and have been very supportive. Thanks.

The news of the tour cancellations comes on the heels of the duo’s fifth LP announcement, Murmurations, which will still be released May 11 via Wichita records.
The group’s Murmurations Barbican Centre show on April 4 in London will proceed as planned and they’ll re-evaluate their touring stance once Shaw completes his treatment. Profits from the London show will be donated to the UCL Amyloidosis research fund.
