HOWWLER established himself quickly at the close of 2017 with two grinding EPs aptly titled Chapter 1 and Chapter 2, two menacing industrial electro pressings with little room for sonic subtlety. Following the two flag-planting EPs, his 2018 debut, “Pillars of Light,” comes as a collaboration with the new Brillz side project, LSDREAM. “Pillars” opens ominously as expected, albeit a bit brighter than HOWWLER’s previous outputs… it’s not until the break down that the sinister saws and shrill percussion take center stage.
