Instagram may soon see the arrival of in-app ‘music stickers,’ among other features
Rumored to be in the midst of expanding its existing ‘Share to Instagram Story’ feature that allows Instagram users to customize their stories with the music they’ve been listening to on Spotify, Instagram will supposedly look to introduce “music stickers” to the app in the months to come. The “music stickers” would effectively allow Instagrammers to search for specific tracks and artists, and to then allow the selected song to play in the background of the story post.
TechCrunch reportedly approached Instagram for comment on the stickers. Although Instagram did not offer an official statement regarding the potential arrival of the “music stickers,” Instagram did note that app users will soon gain access to a range of new in-app functions, including a focus-mode for taking portrait pictures, support for in-app video calls, a Shazam style song detection ability, and a QR code following system comparable to that of Snapchat’s system of new buddy additions, in an effort to simplify the process of finding and following new profiles.
