Is Kanye West producing a seven-track album for Chance The Rapper?

Tonight (June 28), Chance The Rapper is sitting down with Peter Rosenberg on the season finale of Complex‘s ‘Open Late.’ In the feature’s teaser trailer, released ahead of the interview, the first question Rosenberg asked Chance is, “do you have any timeline for the seven song Kanye album?” Since then, social media has all but confirmed the hype, with additional sources close to the situation seemingly corroborating the yet-to-be-confirmed news.

The rumors were backed up by media personality Kazeem Famuyide who is slated for the episode as well.

Chance and Kanye’s frequent collaborator, Francis and the Lights, also hinted to the rumors on Twitter.

Although this is speculation as of now, the stars seem to be aligning. The two Chicago rap stalwarts have worked together before, trading verses on each other’s respective 2016 albums. First Chance delivered his legendary breakout verse on Kanye’s seminal “Ultralight Beam,” and shortly after the pair reunited with Kanye boosting Chano’s Coloring Book opener “All We Got.” Chance has also discussed working on a collaborative album, Good Ass Job, with Kanye on The Crewz Show. Mr. West is pumping out productions, hinting at another seven track album with CyHi The Prynce and telling Jon Caramanica of the New York Times he’s contemplating making 52 records in as many weeks. Among all of that, we may find the old and the new guard of Chicago’s rap ranks together once again, which would certainly cement West’s rap-packed summer as one of the most memorable in recent history.
