One dead and one in critical condition after stabbing at Hideout Festival in Croatia
One person has been reported dead and another person in critical condition after a stabbing occurred June 27 at Croatia’s Hideout Festival. The victim, who has not been named, was 26 years old.
Edi Karuc, deputy director of a hospital in nearby Zadar, said that the one man in intensive care was stabbed five times. “A British citizen with serious injuries has been brought to our hospital and has been hospitalized in intensive care department,” Karuc said. “He was stabbed. His life is in danger.”
Sky News reported that the stabbings occurred on Zrce Beach after a conflict took place in Kalypso club. Seven people have been detained following the brawl outside. The 25-year-old suspect was detained at an airport in the coastal town of Split on Thursday as he tried to leave the country, interior minister Davor Bozinovic said.
Hideout has released a statement on Facebook, saying: “We are giving every assistance to the investigation and our thoughts and condolences are with the family and friends of the people affected. As always, we are working closely with the local authorities with the safety and security of everyone on site as our top priority.”
