OTR and Blondage release catchy electro synth single, ‘Cold Facts’
After collaborating on a highly success remix of Blondage’s single “Stoned,” Ryan Chadwick (OTR) and Pernile Smith-Sivertsen (Blondage) didn’t hesitate to team up on an original work for OTR’s debut EP, Unfold, out July 18. While Smith-Sivertsen and Chadwick swapped ideas over two different demos, ultimately Chadwick’s “Summer Track” demo won out and became “Cold Facts” when Smith-Sivertsen added a story about shedding toxic winter relationships just as the snow melts and hearts thaw.
“Cold Facts” is an anthem about survival and living free without burdens and not being shy for wanting it. Those lyrics launched from the original production, which Chadwick pulled from the adrenaline and adventure of flying in an Apache helicopter during an aerospace engineering internship.
This single is the third release from OTR in 2018, showcasing the hard work he and his team have put in over the last year. This year’s releases cover the spectrum of “chill wave” that we’ve come to expect from the talented producer. He has a knack for layering unique vocals with productions that oscillate from stripped piano to ODESZA-esque synth chorus breakdowns.
