Sasquatch! Music Festival shutters after 17 years

Sasquatch! Music Festival has been a staple of the West Coast festival scene for much of the 21st century. However, after 17 years, founder Adam Zacks has announced that the event will not be returning in 2019. Zacks has not dismissed the idea of the festival making a return in the future, though he has confirmed he will no longer be running it. While some long-time Sasquatch! fans may be disappointed, Zacks noted in a lengthy statement, “seventeen years is a long time to do anything. The Beatles lasted a mere eight years, a fact so astonishing it is difficult to believe.”

The three-day festival hosted major acts, such as Bon Iver, Tyler the Creator, James Blake, Odesza, and more, consistently providing some of the best indie and hip-hop oriented lineups in the area. Zacks continually expressed his appreciation for the support, concluding, “Sasquatch! will forever remain a tapestry of the people who worked with us, the artists who inspired us, and the varied experiences of the fans who attended it… of friendships made, engagements, hilltop weddings, permanent tattoos, once in a lifetime collaborations, weather events both treacherous and magnificent, at least one very public conception and, of course, hundreds of awe-inspiring performances. My humblest gratitude to you all.”
