deadmau5 inks record deal with Kobalt Music’s AWAL label
deadmau5 is taking his multi-installment mau5ville album concept to Kobalt Music’s AWAL label. deadmau5’s deal with Kobalt spans global marketing, campaign coordination, and global distribution on the business marketing spectrum, and will additionally include forthcoming music and remixes in the months that follow Kobalt’s freshly inked acquisition of dance music’s ‘big cheese.’ Although deadmau5 released the inaugural edition in the mau5ville series — mau5ville: level 1 — on his mau5trap label, the “Monophobia” collaborator will launch future releases in the nascent mau5ville album family on AWAL.
