deadmau5 releases long-awaited Rob Swire collaboration, ‘Monophobia’ on new ‘mau5ville: Level 1’ EP
deadmau5 releases are in no short supply this year.
The electronic virtuoso’s long form foray into string instrumentation, orchestral album where’s the drop, made its ethereal debut in June, offering fans classical arrangements of selections from deadmau5’s expansive catalogue. One month later, deadmau5 finds himself entering the release ring yet again with mau5ville: Level 1, an eight-track EP that touts the producer’s previously teased production with Pendulum‘s Rob Swire, “Monophobia.” The opening song of mau5ville: Level 1, “Monophobia’s” arrival marks the first collaboration between deadmau5 and Swire in nearly a decade.
mau5ville: Level 1’s track list renders the EP a veritable family affair, as fellow mau5trap label mates ATTLAS, Latroit, and Rinzen each submit their own takes on “Monophobia.” GTA also make an appearance with “Something Like.”
A deadmau5 solo song — “Nyquist” — and an extended version of “Monophobia” account for the remainder of mau5ville: Level 1.
