Dozens arrested at this year’s Electric Forest

This year’s edition of Electric Forest closed out its second weekend just days ago, and the police reports from the festival have begun to make their way into the news.

Michigan State Police, contracted to patrol the festival over its eight days, are reporting that 27 people were arrested and another 31 are expected to face arrest. Current and pending charges include felony drug and larceny cases, as well as misdemeanor offenses like assault, drug possession, trespassing and destruction of property. Additionally, they investigated 97 complaints and assisted emergency medical responders during medical calls on the site.

The Rothbury, Michigan festival took place over the course of two weekends: June 21-24 and June 28-July 1. Police estimate that about 30,000 people attended the festival’s first weekend, and more than 40,000 attended its second.
