Excision and Illenium’s new collaboration is what bass-lover’s dreams are made of
After collaborating with Kill the Noise, Said the Sky, and Zeds Dead this year, Illenium continues his streak of high-profile collaborations with Excision in the form of new track,”Gold (Stupid Love).” The Colorado-based producer is known for his wide-spanning production abilities, releasing everything from trance to dubstep and future bass. This year, we have seen the producer skew bass, and “Gold (Stupid Love)” is certainly a continuation of this theme.
The widely anticipated single doesn’t disappoint, with its subtle intro featuring Shallows’ vocals. Her vocals could fit into a pop track, but the song builds into an ethereal break before falling into an intense bass drop that captivates the listener to their core. This track will surely be a mainstay at Excision’s own Lost Lands music festival, where Illenium is included in this year’s headliners.
