Skream goes full techno on new single, ‘Poison’
Skream, one of dubstep’s true pioneers, has spent the past few years distancing himself from the genre via a stream of house and techno-oriented releases and DJ sets. Continuing this trend on Alan Fitzpatrick‘s We Are The Brave imprint, the English producer has released a new single, titled “Poison.”
In this pounding release, Skream puts together a dark, eight-minute techno journey, full of oscillating synths and clanging hi-hats. Distortion builds tension as the song makes its way into the second half, with ominous vocals eerily drifting in and out. The “Poison” single also comes with an acid-tinged remix from label boss Alan Fitzpatrick. With Skream continually associating himself with some of Europe’s biggest names in house and techno, it is obvious that the DJ is finding a home for himself in one of today’s most dynamic music scenes.
