Tyler, the Creator and A$AP Rocky just dropped a new song called ‘Potato Salad,’ and it’s damn delicious
Hip-hop cohorts A$AP Rocky and Tyler, the Creator have released another new collaborative single called “Potato Salad,” where the two freestyle over Monica’s 2003 hit “Knock Knock.”
Released as a kitschy new promotional item for A$AP’s mysterious new AWGE company website, the clip finds the two in Paris, stunting despite the lo-fidelity angles, talking about popping models and “Cole Sprouses,” driving fast cars, and even throwing shade at mumble rappers. “Then I think about the state of rapping,” raps A$AP. “All the freshman in the classes, all the super seniors mumblin’ and ramblin’, mumblin and rappin’, mumble rapping? “I find it hard to find actual talent, I find it hard to find an actual challenge.”
The clip also features a cameo from Jaden Smith. But what’s most exciting about the new release is the video’s ending, where the two tease a possible upcoming collaborative project called WANG$AP. Regardless of how the two keep this collaboration going, they’ll have fans eating it up like potato salad in the summertime no matter what.
