Unlike Pluto surprises followers with four-track project, ‘Pluto Tapes’
Unlike Pluto continues his month of releases with a surprise drop of his four-track Pluto Tapes project. This last month alone, he’s unveiled eight new songs: two from his Late Bloomer EP and another two from his Fake Smiles, Real Memories EP. His new project is an eclectic mix of genres ranging from indie rock to house.
“Don’t Know What To Say” has a house vibe with acoustic sentiments and vocals that pull at emotions while still sounding apathetic. The duality culminates into a chilled, smooth house that some could call tropical.”No Goodbyes” hits listeners with a melancholic tone during the verses and divulges into indie-emo chops for the hook. “Problems” is the hardest hitting song on the EP, teetering along the lines future bass and trap.
“Run, Bobby, Run” closes out Fake Smiles, Real Memories, and is reminiscent of Unlike Pluto’s original sound with unique, synth-heavy chops atop a pulsating future bass rhythm. Its nostalgic atmosphere is enjoyable; yet, it is of course made for the present day and built to last.
The producer originally from Atlanta has had quite the release strategy as of recent, and from the sounds of everything, it’s paying off.
