August equals sweltering temperatures in California — especially in desert towns like Palm Springs. Such a seasonal peak makes a perfect foundation for the city’s annual Splash House festival, whose second weekend is taking place from August 10-12. Having established a niche of house, tech, and electronica across its two weekends each year, guests look forward to a top talent roster and whilst finding asylum from the heat by way of resort pools.

We’ve invited one of the festival’s talents, Max Chapman, by to provide a sonic preview of what to expect at the festival. He creates quite the cheery hour in his mix, selecting an array of ecstatic and grooving house tunes and stitching them into a sunny arrangement. The atmosphere he’s created and the sounds he’s chosen are perfect for the outdoors, and effortlessly implants imagery of raving poolside.
