The Music Sounds Better With You creates a speed dating event based on personal music tastes
Dating can be hard these days. With so many factors that go into finding the right person, it seems nearly impossible, even with all of the apps like Tinder and Bumble. However, if a big factor in finding the right match is based on music preference, then The Music Sounds Better With You might just be the perfect solution.
Imagine sitting in the iconic live music venue, Hoxton Square Bar & Kitchen, full of a bunch of music enthusiasts, all in a specific age range, with headphones prepared for a four minute showcase of their favorite tracks. It works just like speed dating, but instead of the awkward “so whats new” each participant spends their four minutes listening to tracks together and therefore give themselves a bit more common ground (or possibly uncommon ground) right from the beginning.
After time is up participants move along, all while keeping a list of people they would like to meet again on their matching sheet. At the end the sheet is given to hosts who tally up the ‘mutual matches’ in 48 hours, and then return those to the participants. While the emerging speed dating format has only sprung up so far in London, we’re betting the idea catches on pretty quickly from here.
