Solomun partners with Grand Theft Auto on ‘Customer is King’ music video
Solomun dropped a landmark release this June, marking his first original solo EP in nearly three years to celebrate his own Diynamic Music’s one hundredth release. With three tracks straight from the underground of dance music, the EP was led by a single, “Customer Is King.” Now, that single is being revived again to mark another milestone.
The music video for “Customer Is King” has been unveiled and while it may be animated, it is the first of its kind. The video has been shot entirely within the game of Grand Theft Auto V, following Solomun’s character as he gets dropped from a remote island in downtown LA. As he goes on a new quest to deliver an unknown package, mayhem of course ensues around him in true GTA style, when in the end, we see that his track’s title is the true end game of it all.
The collaboration between GTA creators Rockstar Games and Solomun is the first of its kind, with this video being the first-ever to be developed within a video game’s landscape. It is for an occasion, though, with the launch a new nightclub-themed add on to Grand Theft Auto Online: After Hours starting on July 31.
